Seniors Ashline, Loomis pace Cadets

Hilton overcame a six-point deficit in the second game and swept visiting Brockport 25-7, 25-20, 25-16 in girls’ volleyball to earn their 12th victory of the season.

Kylie Ashline had two kills and two aces in the first set while sophomore Jaelyn Bickom added four of her six total kills as Hilton ran out to a 12-3 advantage and never looked back as Brockport had trouble finding their setter to set up their offense throughout.

The Blue Devils did a much better job in the second game as they led 16-10 as sophomores Olivia Maxwell and Lily Panning each had a pair of kills with Lauren Dailey and Bobbi Cheves adding kills along with a cross-court beauty from Kaylee Blum.

But the Cadets started to chip away to eventually tie the game 19-19 as Ashline and Megan Loomis combined for six kills with the later adding three aces and senior Macy Hoffman an ace during a 15-4 run to the finish.

The final set was tied five times through the early going including 7-7 before Hilton found scoring from other sources as Bickom had an ace and one kill, junior Alexia Nelms three aces with senior Logan Hibbard and junior Nicole Cavallaro each adding a kill as the Cadets completed the sweep on an 18-9 run.

Maxwell led Brockport with eight digs and four kills, Dailey had four digs, Panning two digs and sophomore Kaylee Blum five digs and three kills.

Ashline finished with eight kills and three aces, Megan Loomis eight kills, four aces and six digs, and Bickom six kills while sophomore Bailey Loomis chipped in a team-high four digs.
