C-C alum named Offensive Performer of the Week in lacrosse

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Nicholas Colucci of Churchville, a Churchville-Chili High School alum, has been selected as the Liberty League Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week, marking the first weekly award of the junior’s career. 

In a recent game, Colucci had a team-high six points on three goals and three assists as the Engineers defeated the Royals, 17-16. He also had six shots, four of which were on goal, with two ground balls. Two of Colucci’s goals came with .01 left on the clock in a quarter (1st and 2nd) and all three of his assists came in the fourth, giving Rensselaer leads of 15-10, 16-14 and 17-15 with 2:11 left in the contest. His final two helpers were on goals by sophomore attack Connor Glosner (Auburn, NH).

In Colucci’s first two seasons, he played 21 games with three goals and three assists. He had 21 shots with 10 on goal, along with 14 ground balls. The aeronautical engineering major saw action in 15 games as a sophomore when he scored twice with two assists, 13 shots (5 on goal) and 10 ground balls.
