RWC Redhawks Sell First Team All-American

Brockport high school graduate and Roberts Wesleyan women’s basketball forward Marissa Sell was named the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region Player of the Year and American First Team.

Sell led Roberts Wesleyan in scoring with 311 points and 245 rebounds in 24 games as she averaged a double-double for the season at 13.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She was second on the team among starters in free throw percentage and fifth on the team in steals and assists.

The Redhawks finished with a 16-14 record and the East Region title before falling to top seed Union in the National Championship first round. They won a consolation game against seventh seed Grace College in the final game of the season.

Devan Grimes of the men’s team was named All-American Honorable Mention after averaging almost 15 points per game and leading the squad in rebounding despite missing time late in the season with an injury.
