It’s rocket science

As part of the kinematics unit on angular projectiles, Byron-Bergen High School physics students, under the direction of physics instructor Briana Del Vecchio, conducted a fun experiment with rockets.

Students created their own rockets, launched them on campus, and videotaped the path of the flight. After the launch, the students used Logger Pro™ to analyze the video and determine the speed, height, range, etc., of their rockets.

The best rocket went 118 meters and was designed by junior Nick Kelly (center) with the help of senior Lucas Audsley (right).
