Rangers sweep on senior night

Seniors Nathan Hubbard, Alex Caton and Garrett Bonacci combined for 26 kills to lead Spencerport to a 25-18, 25-21, 25-18 sweep over Eastridge in the final regular season home match for the boys volleyball team.

The first game was tied 5-5 before the Rangers went on a 13-5 run highlighted by two kills from Hubbard, one kill and one ace by Caton, aces by Bonacci and junior Holden Baird, along with a kill by senior Bendetto Cannizzaro.

Spencerport ran out to a 21-13 lead in game two as junior Adam Waring registered two kills, Bonacci and Caton two kills with one ace each, a block for point by Hubbard, and an ace by Cannizzaro.

Caton had three kills and a pair of aces in the third set while Hubbard registered one ace, one kill, and two blocks for points to secure the sweep and lock the Rangers into the second seed in Class B1 for the upcoming Section V playoffs.

Junior setter Henry Lane handed out 45 assists in the win while Hubbard led with 11 kills. Caton had ten kills, Bonacci five aces with five kills, and Waring finished with two kills and one block for the 12-6 Rangers.
